Atomic diffusion in solar-like stars with MESA

چکیده
The stellar evolution code Modules for Experiments in Stellar Astrophysics (MESA) is public and widely used by the community. It includes possibility of taking several non-standard processes such as atomic diffusion into account. Even if effect gravitational settling considered a standard ingredient modelling today, this not case radiative accelerations. specific treatment along with accelerations has never been compared other codes. Benchmarking these codes important because improved accuracy required order to analyse data from present future space missions, \textit{Kepler}, Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), PLAnetary Transits Oscillations stars (PLATO) missions. aim paper compare MESA models including (with accelerations) computed Montreal/Montpellier Code d'Evolution Stellaire Adaptatif et Modulaire (CESTAM). Additionally, we assess impact some options related diffusion. We calculated diffusion, accelerations, following abundance profiles 14 elements models. Atomic diffusion in metal-poor stars
We have computed a grid of up-to-date stellar evolutionary models including atomic diffusion, in order to study the evolution with time of the surface Li abundance in low-mass metal-poor stars. We discuss in detail the dependence of the surface Li evolution on the initial metallicity and stellar mass, and compare the abundances obtained from our models with the available Li measurements in Pop ...
متن کاملCoronae on solar-like stars
The results of a complete and sensitive X-ray survey of all known stars of spectral type A, F, and G in the immediate solar vicinity with distances less than 13 pc are presented. The X-ray data were obtained primarily from the ROSAT all-sky survey (RASS); those program stars not detected in the RASS data, were subsequently studied in the ROSAT pointed observation program. The detection rate amo...
متن کاملHigh-frequency modes in solar-like stars
p-mode oscillations in solar-like stars are excited by the outer convection zone in these stars and reflected close to the surface. The p-modes are trapped inside an acoustic cavity, but the modes only stay trapped up to a given frequency (known as the acoustic cut-off frequency (νac)) as modes with larger frequencies are generally not reflected at the surface. This means that modes with freque...
متن کاملp - mode frequencies in solar - like stars : ⋆ I . Procyon A
As a part of an ongoing program to explore the signature of p-modes in solar-like stars by means of high-resolution absorption line spectroscopy, we have studied four stars (α CMi, η Cas A, ζ Her A and β Vir). We present here new results from two-site observations of Procyon A acquired over twelve nights in 1999. Oscillation frequencies for l=1 and 0 (or 2) p-modes are detected in the power spe...
متن کاملSolar-like Cycle in Asymptotic Giant Branch Stars
I propose that the mechanism behind the formation of concentric semi-periodic shells found in several planetary nebulae (PNs) and proto-PNs, and around one asymptotic giant branch (AGB) star, is a solar-like magnetic activity cycle in the progenitor AGB stars. The time intervals between consecutive ejection events is ∼ 200 − 1, 000 yrs, which is assumed to be the cycle period (the full magnetic...
